Quarterback Chubba Purdy and defensive end Josh Griffis are the only two recruits that were verbally committed, but ended up signing elsewhere on signing day. Both ended up at Florida State.

Three-star defensive back Marqui Lowery Jr. was the only signing day flip for the Cards. He’d previously been committed to Appalachian State.

Ja’Darien Boykin and Jamel Starks signed with Louisville last year but both failed to academically qualified. As we reported last week, both have straightened out their academic issues and have re-signed with the Cards. Both will enroll in January.

Three star defensive tackle Henry Bryant wasn’t officially announced as a signee, but is still currently committed to Louisville. There’s been speculation that he may flip to NC State, but that hasn’t happened yet.

It looks like the staff will have approximately four scholarships to use in the second signing period.
