Price, who announced last month that his family was moving to Louisville where they have relatives that live, said he visited “a few schools” before deciding on J’town.
“I came to the decision that’s where I had a good chemistry with the team and I really liked the style of play,” Price told The Courier-Journal late Sunday night. “Some of the other schools were not the ideal image I had for my final year.
“It seemed like the best fit for me.”
The 6-foot-10 Price played his first three seasons of high school ball at Lakewood, Ohio, St. Edward. He’s considered a top-75 player in the country.
At J’town, Price will play for Rick Pitino manager and administrative assistant Jeff Morrow. The player said that “didn’t have a lot” of affect on his decision.
Among the other schools he visited was Easter, Butler, Pleasure Ridge Park, Ballard and Central. His family will move into the J’town area.
A couple of weeks ago, I had the chance to talk to some folks at J-Town, who were pretty confident that Price would enroll, but he didn’t make his decision public until this weekend. J-Town is loaded with talent, the Chargers are my pick to win it all next year.<
