The Baltimore Ravens utilized Lamar Jackson throughout the first six weeks of his rookie season, but headed into week seven Lamar had yet to make an appearance in the end-zone. That changed on Sunday afternoon against the New Orleans Saints.
Jackson punched in a one-yard touchdown with four seconds left in the first half to give the Ravens a 10-7 lead. They wound up losing 24-23 to the Saints.
“We’ve been working on that play the whole week in practice; it was a new play for us,” Jackson said after the game. “My first touchdown in (M&T Bank) Stadium. Amazing. I blew a kiss to the crowd. I said, ‘I’m going right to the sideline with this ball.’ I’m keeping it.”
Jackson has played in all seven games for Baltimore, but it’s been mostly as a rusher. He’s thrown just two passes so far this season. Jackson has totaled 94 rushing yards and is averaging 5.5 per carry<
