Vegas Insider: What’s Up With The Louisville-WKU Point Spread?

The boys in Vegas have had a tough time figuring the Louisville football team out over the past few seasons.

Louisville was last place in FBS last year going 1-11 against the spread with their lone cover being a four-point loss against Florida State. Heading into this season Louisville was 5-23-1 against the spread.

In 2019 the Cards have covered in each of their first two games.

Per VegasInsider.com and OddsShark.com Louisville opened as 8-point favorites over Western Kentucky.

The line has since moved, but not as much as you might expect. Online sportsbook Bovada has Louisville -10.5 while most Vegas sportsbooks have the Cards -10.

Given that WKU kicked off their season with a home loss to FCS Central Arkansas and Louisville has looked better than most expected, I thought we’d see the Cards as a bigger favorite.

After a brutal week one loss, WKU did bounce back winning outright at Florida International as an 8-point underdog.

With this game being played in Nashville I suppose oddsmakers view WKU as the home team, but Louisville fans should overwhelmingly outnumber Hilltopper fans.

Pick: Louisville covers 34-13
