Earlier this morning we shared the report from Rivals.com’s Dave Lackford that Louisville redshirt junior Jon Greenard would be transferring to Florida.
A handful of local media members reached out to UofL regarding the report.
From U of L on Jonathan Greenard: "Jonathan Greenard confirmed today with the athletics department that he and his family have not had any communications with the University of Florida about transferring. (Greenard) has not put his name into the NCAA transfer portal."

I reached out to UofL with regards to Greenard and they say he has not put his name in the NCAA transfer portal — the step you have to take to transfer. @WHAS11

Greenard likely wouldn’t have to put his name in the NCAA transfer portal if he is graduating in December. With that said, programs can’t have any contact with players at other schools unless necessary paperwork has been filed.
I have a hard time thinking the initial report was fabricated. Lackford’s article is behind a pay-wall, therefore a lot of folks probably didn’t read it. He didn’t claim that there had been any communication with the Florida program.
From what I’ve gathered UofL isn’t shooting down the report. They’re simply saying that Greenard hasn’t put his name in the transfer portal and he’s told them that he and his family haven’t had any contact with Florida.
Sooner or later we’ll find out what the future holds for Greenard. Hopefully he decides to stick around.<
