Tyra Says Satterfield Is Happy At Louisville & Will Not Interview With South Carolina

A report surfaced on Tuesday evening that had the Louisville fanbase in full panic mode.

In an article updating the South Carolina coaching search, Josh Kendall of The Athletic reported that Scott Satterfield was one of two coaches that had an interview scheduled with the school.

This isn’t the first time Satterfield’s name has been mentioned for the SEC vacancy.

Shortly after Will Muschamp was fired earlier this month Ralph Russo of the Associated Press mentioned Satterfield’s name as someone South Carolina will consider targeting.

ESPN Insider Adam Rittenberg reported earlier this week that not only was Satterfield a candidate, but sources tell him that “they could see it happening.”

Fortunately Louisville fans panic attack didn’t last too long. Shortly after the report picked up some steam, athletic director Vince Tyra informed reporters that Satterfield has let him know that he’s happy at Louisville and is not interested in interviewing with South Carolina.

While this is certainly good news, Louisville fans have been in this situation before and have seen how these things can play out.

It’ll be interested to hear what Satterfield has to say at his next media availability.
