Earlier this afternoon the University of Missouri announced that redshirt freshman quarterback Tyler Gabbert has decided to leave the football program, to pursue other playing opportunities, as announced today by Head Coach Gary Pinkel. Tyler is the younger brother of former Mizzou QB Blaine Gabbert, who was drafted in the first round of this years NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Don’t be surprised if Gabbert seriously considers Louisville. Before committing to Missouri, Gabbert committed to Nebraska, and then later changed his mind. Louisville’s new quarterback coach Shawn Watson established a good relationship with Gabbert while he was committed to the Huskers. His older brother is believed to be the only reason he changed his mind and ended up at Missouri. Scout ranked him as a 4-star prospect our of high school.<
