During a radio interview last week Rick Pitino said that he likely wouldn’t use the one remaining scholarship for next season as long as Deng Adel returns. Pitino was either fibbing or he’s changed his mind.
As of right now, there are two players that could be in line for the one remaining scholarship that is available. Louisville has been courting Wright State grad transfer Mark Alstork for the past few weeks and despite Pitino’s comments last week he still plans to take an official visit this week.
Alstork reportedly won’t be the only player to visit UofL this week. Jeff Greer of the Courier-Journal reports that Wassef Methnani will take an official visit to Louisville on Tuesday, which is one day prior to Alstork’s visit.
Methnani is a 6-foot-8 forward from Tunisia. He is member of the 2017 recruiting class, but doesn’t appear to be garnering much interest. According to 247Sports.com, Methnani currently has an offer from Fairfield. After coming to the United States he spent time playing at a prep school in California and currently attends the Knox school in New York.
