Cardinal Basketball

Tuesday Update

I sure do miss these guys!!!

It keeps getting worse for former Seton Hall Head Coach Bobby Gonzalez. Gonzo was arrested last week for shoplifting a $1,395 satchel from Polo Ralph Lauren in Short Hills Mall. article. I love to make fun of Gonzo, but this is just sad

–Many people seem to think I jumped the gun on the Justin Coleman story, but like I said, if I was not 100% percent confident in my sources I would have not shared the information. Nothing has been officially reported by the university, but the chances of Coleman qualifying are very slim, and have been so for a long time.  I may (I hope) turn out to be wrong, but I doubt it. Coleman has told the media over the past year that he is close to qualifying, but  don’t see that being possible. Justin has had academic issues since his first year of high school. He was academically ineligible his entire sophomore season, and was only able to play in ten games as a junior. At one point Coleman was considered a top 25 prospect in the country, but no big name programs wasted time recruiting him because of his academic situation.

–Rick Pitino, Steve Masiello, and new assistant coach Tim Fuller were in Indianapolis today for Adidas Invitational. A number of Cardinal recruits competed in day 1 of the tournament. The Cardinals got some surprisingly good news about 5 star recruit Quincy Miller. Miller was quoted saying he was “feeling Louisville.”  Miller also said Louisville is “on the come up” and noted new assistant coach Tim Fuller “is a great guy.” Deuce Bello, his teammate and friend, noted he would visit Louisville soon. Not sure if this means much, but it is a step in the right direction. Tim Fuller has been here a week and already making an impact in our recruiting.

— According to Jeff Goodman of Fox Sports, The NCAA is looking into the eligibility of UK incoming freshman Enes Kanter. I have a feeling we will be hearing a lot this crap in the future, as long as Coach Cayul is around.
