Teddy Bridgewater Traded To The New Orleans Saints

Louisville Cardinal legend Teddy Bridgewater is on the move.

ESPN’s Adam Shefter reports that the New York Jets have traded Bridgewater to the New Orleans Saints.

Bridgewater reportedly found out the news while sitting on the Jets team bus.

The Saints have their quarterback for the immediate future in Drew Brees, who has started 190 of 192 games since joining New Orleans in 2016.

With that said, Brees is 39-years-old and has just two years left on his current contract. It certainly seems that the Saints have plans for Bridgewater to step in down the road.

Teddy signed a one-year, $5 million contract with the Jets earlier this year. The Jets later drafted quarterback Sam Darnold with the No. 3 overall pick and still have journeyman signal caller Josh McCown.

Bridgewater showed no signs of a guy who is coming off a significant injury during preseason action for the Jets. In three games he threw for 316 yards on 28-of-38 passing with two touchdowns and one interception.
