According to a very reliable source, Ryan Taylor will not be a part of Louisville’s 2011 recruiting class.
Taylor committed to Louisville in January 2009. He was originally a member of the Indianapolis trio of recruits that Rick Pitino and his son Richard were heavily pursuing, but seems to have struck out. Marquis Teague stabbed Rick in the back and committed to Kentucky. Shortly after that, Michael Chandler decided to reopen his recruiting, and now Ryan Taylor will not suit up for Louisville due to academic issues.
Taylor spent his first three seasons at Lawrence North in Indianapolis, but moved to Louisville for his senior season to play for his uncle at Western High School.
Taylor is still committed to Rick Pitino and the Cardinal program, but with the academic issues Louisville will not sign him with this 2011 class. I’m still unsure of what exact issues he is having. Taylor may be able to attend prep school for a year and come to Louisville in 2012. Like I said, I’m still unsure of what type of academic issues he is having, but I do know that it is highly unlikely we see him with this 2011 class.
