Ryan Taylor is leaving Lawrence North High School and will attend Western High School in Louisville as a senior, to be closer to his eventual college decision.
The 6-6 Taylor, who has verbally committed to the University of Louisville, averaged 12.7 points and 8.7 rebounds as a junior at Lawrence North, helping the Wildcats to a 16-8 record under coach Jack Keefer.
Taylor’s uncle, Paul Handley, is the head coach at Louisville Western High School.
“It was a family decision and will make the switch to college easier since I will be down there,” Taylor said. “My uncle is there and I’ll be living with him. I’m kind of sad to leave LN behind, but I guess we’re doing what’s best for me.”
Taylor, is the second commitment from the 2011 class that will move to Louisville to finish high school, before heading to UofL in 2011. Fellow 2011 commit, Zach Price, announced last month, he will be moving to Louisville from Cleveland and has enrolled at Jeffersontown High School. Neither school has each other on their schedule, but the two teams could possibly meet in the King of The Bluegrass, or the Sweet 16.<
