After not receiving any carries throughout the first two games of the season red-shirt junior running back Dae Williams has decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

Williams made the announcement through his Twitter account.

In his three years with the program Williams had very unfortunate luck with injuries. After redshirting as a true freshman in 2016 he made a name for himself in the spring of 2017 and looked like a strong candidate to be Louisville’s featured back in the fall. Unfortunately he suffered a torn ACL in April and missed all but six games in the 2017 season. Upon returning Williams showed promise rushing 38 times for 235 yards and three touchdowns in 2017.

The injury bug once again bit Williams in 2018. He carried nine times for 58 yards and two touchdowns in the week three win over Western Kentucky. but he ended up getting injured the next week and missed the rest of the season.

Louisville should be fine at running back with Javian Hawkins and Hassan Hall both having solid starts to the season. Junior Maurice Barkley and freshman Aidan Robbins both saw action against Eastern Kentucky on Saturday.
