It’s no secret who Rick Pitino and his staff’s top target in the 2018 class is. Louisville was one of the first high major programs to offer New Albany native Romeo Langford a scholarship and they’ve been in heavy pursuit ever since.
Unfortunately for Pitino, he’s got some tough competition. Langford is rated as the second best player nationally in the 2018 class and holds scholarship offers from some of the top programs in the country. Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, Louisville and Indiana are the believed to be the top programs in the mix.
Langford averaged 29.3 points and 9.3 rebounds for the Bulldogs during his sophomore season and was named First Team All State as he led New Albany High School to their first state championship since 1973.
The five-star prospect is off to a great start to his junior season and had a huge performance on Thursday night with Pitino and other big time coaches in attendance. New Albany lost to La Lumiere High School 85-63, but Langford finished with 40-points threw down a couple of monster dunks.
