Romeo Langford Continues To Live Up To The Hype

Todd Burandt - adidas

There’s no question who Rick Pitino’s top target in the 2018 recruiting class is. For nearly two years New Albany native Romeo Langford has been a top priority for Pitino and his staff.

Shortly after leading New Albany High School to their first Indiana state championship in over thirty years, Langford blew up nationally. After his sophomore season he became a consensus top three player nationally.

The first open evaluation period of the spring was this past weekend, which means some of the top coaches in the country gathered in Dallas, Texas, to see Langford compete at the adidas Gauntlet.

Langford continued to live up to the hype leading all scorers in the event averaging 24.7 points per game. Check out the updated highlight reel from this past weekend.

As you know, Louisville is one of many big time programs pursuing Langford. The New Albany native could choose any school he’d like at this point, but Duke, Louisville, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana and North Carolina appear to be the serious contenders.
