Report: Scott Satterfield Has Interviewed For South Carolina Job

Chris Humphrey

Roughly two weeks after a report surfaced that Scott Satterfield had a scheduled interview with South Carolina, another report is out this morning claiming that an interview has actually taken place.

South Carolina 247sports website reported that Satterfield was interviewed in person by South Carolina athletics director Ray Tanner.

If these reports are true and Satterfield did in fact interview for the job and didn’t let Vince Tyra know, things could get messy, right?

In an article published on November 24, Josh Kendall of The Athletic reported that Scott Satterfield was one of two coaches that had an interview scheduled with the school. Shortly after the report picked up some steam, athletic director Vince Tyra informed reporters that Satterfield has let him know that he’s happy at Louisville and is not interested in interviewing with South Carolina.

Tyra’s response put Louisville fans at ease, but Satterfield later released a statement of his own and didn’t really deny anything in regards to the South Carolina situation.

“While I am flattered my name was associated with another job I haven’t pursued or sought out any offers. I am the head coach at the University of Louisville. We are building a strong foundation and culture. I love our players and the dedication they have shown to me and my staff. It’s important that we continue the development of this program. We have an outstanding recruiting class coming in December and I’m excited for the future of this program. L’s Up!!”

That statement didn’t make me feel like he was 1000% committed to Louisville and if the recent report is true, it certainly seems like he’s looking to move on.

We’ll keep you updated if more develops over the weekend.
