For the second time in less than a week a member of the Louisville football program has decided to leave the team.

Mark Ennis was the first to report that sophomore cornerback Russ Yeast has left the team and will seek a transfer. WHAS11 has since confirmed the report.

Yeast was one of the top signees for Louisville’s 2017 class. The Indiana native was rated as a four-star prospect and chose the Cards over offers fromĀ Alabama, Auburn, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Nebraska and Ole Miss, among others.

As a true freshman Yeast played in 12 games, but he’s barely seen the field in 2018. Per the UofL website, the former U.S. Army All American hasn’t had a tackle since the Virginia game in late September.

In the past week Bobby Petrino has lost two players to transfer and had three members of their 2019 recruiting class decommit.
