Report: Russ Smith Is Headed Back To China

Louisville Cardinal legend Russ Smith will reportedly return to China for his fifth season of pro basketball.

Sportando reports that Smith will re-sign with Fujian Sturgeons.

Since graduating from UofL in 2014, the former first team All American has played in the G-League, Turkey and in two separate leagues in China. Things didn’t go well for Russ in Turkey, but he quickly beacme a superstar in China.

For the NBL’s Luoyang Zhonghe Smith averaged 60 points per game last summer. He later signed with the CBA’s Fujian Sturgeons where he averaged 33 points and seven assists per game.

Smith participated in NBA free agent camps earlier this summer with the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Dallas Mavericks.
