According to Stadium Network’s Jeff Goodman, Chris Mack and the Louisville basketball program will be spending some time in Las Vegas next November.
Goodman reports that Louisville and Arkansas will be two of the teams participating in the “Las Vegas Main Event” on Nov. 20 and 22 of next year.
It’s not being reported that the two programs will play each other, but I’d say that’s most likely.
After scouring the internet, I can’t find a damn thing on the “Las Vegas Main Event,” therefore I can only assume that this will be a new event next season.
I would imagine this trip will be Louisville’s annual early season non-conference neutral site event. Last year the Cards participated in the Preseason NIT in Brooklyn and this season they’re playing Texas Tech in the Jimmy V Classic.
If Arkansas is the opponent, that should give Louisville a chance to add at least a solid non conference win. The Razorbacks appear to be headed in the right direction under new head coach Eric Musselman who recently took over in Fayetteville after a solid stint at Nevada.<
