Dallas drafted Spalding with the 56th overall pick in the second round. He averaged eight points and five rebounds in 17 minutes per game for Dallas in the summer league.
The deal is expected to be a four-year rookie minimum deal and is unlikely to be fully guaranteed per Hoops Rumors.
Spalding will likely spend the bulk of his rookie season with the Texas Legends, Dallas’ G-League affiliate. However, with his initial deal being for four years, it’s clear Dallas see’s Ray’s potential.<
