The Louisville basketball program has produced an NBA Draft pick for the sixth consecutive year.
Former Cardinal and Louisville native Ray Spalding was selected 56th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers.
Spalding spent three years at the University of Louisville before deciding to take his talent to the next level.
In three seasons Spalding scored a total of 813 points and grabbed a total of 630 rebounds.
The Louisville native’s last season with the Cardinals was his best, averaging 12.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.7 blocks, 1.5 steals and 1.3 assists per game, shooting 54.3 percent from the field.
The University of Louisville remains the only school to have players taken in every NBA and NFL draft since June 2013.<
