Rumors surfaced earlier this week that a key piece for the future of Louisville football was looking to transfer from the program.
It turns out those rumors were true.
Freshman quarterback Jordan Travis has left the football program and will transfer.
On Thursday morning Bobby Petrino confirmed the news in a press release.
“Jordan Travis approached me Tuesday about transferring, and we had a productive discussion about his future,” Petrino said.
“He talked about the possibility of getting closer to home and his family, and we agreed that it might be a better situation for him personally. Jordan is a terrific young man and I wish him nothing but the best in his collegiate career.”
Since arriving at Louisville in June, Travis was believed to be the quarterback of the future. The Florida native received rave reviews from the staff.
He played in three games completing 4-of-14 passes for 71 yards and one touchdown.
