Peyton Siva Earns Player of the Week Honors In Germany

Former Louisville Cardinal point guard Peyton Siva is playing really well in his second season across the pond. Siva is currently playing for Alba Berlin in Germany’s top level professional league.

After a near triple double performance this past week, Siva has been named Player of the Week. Siva finished with 16-points, 10-assists and 7-rebounds in Alba Berlin’s 93-76 win. Below is an excerpt from

MVP of the Week
: Peyton Siva (Alba Berlin)

This is the kind of performance that defines the term “one-man orchestra” when it comes to basketball. Peyton Siva did every-freaking-thing to hand Alba Berlin a precious first victory in the Top 16. He came three boards short of a triple-double with 16 points, 10 assists, 7 rebounds and increased the number of possessions for his team with 5 steals. Essentially, he made his 4 turnovers look nonexistant while he registered 35 points in the PIR evaluation system.

Siva spent last season with Juve Castera in Italy’s top professional league.  He led his team in scoring (13.3 ppg) and assists (6.5 apg) and was named to the league’s All Star team.

After being selected in the second round of the 2013 NBA Draft, Siva spent his rookie season with the Detroit Pistons. He was waived after his rookie season and later signed a non-guaranteed deal with Orlando Magic in 2014 and spent that season with the franchise’s NBA D-League affiliate, the Erie Bayhawks.
