Donovan Mitchell’s professional peers have voted him as the NBA’s best rookie for the 2017-18 season.

The winner of official NBA Rookie of the Year Award won’t be announced until June, 25, but the NBA Players Association voted Mitchell as the league’s top rookie in the “Player’s Voice awards.”

Mitchell was voted as “Leader of the New School” by his peers. According to the NBPA, this award goes to “the rookie who rose to the occasion and proved they are a star in the making.”

Mitchell averaged 20.5 points per game in his rookie season with the Jazz and was the winner of the annual NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
