Former Louisville Cardinal Mangok Mathiang isn’t expected to hear his name called in this year’s NBA Draft, but he’ll at least get the opportunity to show NBA teams what he can do.
Mathiang will participate in this week’s Portsmouth Invitational in Virginia. The P.I.T. is an annual event that features 64 of the best college basketball players (seniors) from across the nation to participate in a four-day, twelve game tournament in front of representatives from every NBA team.
In four seasons at the University of Louisville, Mathiang averaged 4.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. He was playing the best basketball of his career down the stretch of his senior season. Mathiang averaged 14 points and 4.8 rebounds in his final seven games.
Mathiang is a member of the Sales System LTD team in Portsmouth. Their first game is on Thursday night at 9:00 PM.
