The only good news from last night is that Malik Williams is “fine.”
Williams twisted his ankle just a couple minutes and was immediately taken to the locker room.
Shortly after limping off the floor, Williams made his way back to the bench, but after seeing him in tears it seemed pretty obvious that he wouldn’t return. When the Cards came out after halftime Williams was in a boot and was officially listed as “out’ for the remainder of the game.
Fortunately, Williams didn’t suffer any type of serious injury and should be back in action for the Cards next game.
“Fortunately it’s nothing,” Chris Mack said during his post game radio interview. “We got an x-ray after the game, he’s fine, so hopefully this this time off we can get him back on the floor and we’ll find out more tomorrow when he wakes up.”
Considering how well Malik had been playing, this is great news.
Williams had totaled 31 points and 22 rebounds in the two games prior to Florida State. He’s averaged 13.3 points and 6.8 rebounds as Louisville’s starting center.<
