Louisville Will Open Post Season Play Against Notre Dame

Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

With Notre Dame knocking off Georgia Tech in the first round of the ACC Tournament on Tuesday afternoon, they’ll advance to take on Louisville in the second round.

Notre Dame had a comfortable lead for the majority of the game before nearly blowing a 20-point lead. Georgia Tech cut the deficit to three with a little over a minute to play, but the Irish hung on to advance to the second round.

As usual, the Irish were lead by big man John Mooney who had 20-points and 10-rebound in the 78-71 victory.

With the win Notre Dame snapped a seven game losing streak. The Irish now have a total of four ACC wins on the season, two against Georgia Tech and they swept Boston College during the regular season.

This will be Louisville and Notre Dame’s second meeting in the past 11 days. The Cards closed out their home slate on March 3rd with a 75-61 win over the Irish.

Tip is set for 7:00 PM and the game will be on ESPN2.
