Roughly two and a half hours after learning that David Padgett and the Louisville Cardinals didn’t make the 2018 NCAA Tournament, we’ve since learned they’ve been given a No. 2 seed in the NIT.
The Cards will host the Northern Kentucky Norse, the No. 7 seed in the lower left bracket. The winner will take on the winner of Middle Tennessee State and Vermont.
Louisville will host Northern Kentucky in the NIT on Tuesday night at the KFC Yum Center at 7 p.m. in ESPN.

Northern Kentucky finished the season 22-9 overall and 15-3 in the Horizon League. They were the top seed in the league’s tournament, but were upset by Cleveland State in their first game.
