The 2017 McDonald’s All American rosters were released on Sunday evening. Zero of Rick Pitino’s four signees were give the “prestigious” Burger Boy honor. This shouldn’t be considered a surprise and it’s certainly not a big deal.
In the end, Pitino’s 2017 recruiting class will likely end up being ranked in the top ten. Pitino has spoken very highly of his signees and believes he’s got one of his best recruiting classes since he was hired at Louisville.
Malik Williams not being named a McDonald’s All American could be viewed as a surprise, considering he’s ranked as one of the top 25 overall players in the 2017 class. The 7-foot forward from Fort Wayne, Indiana, is as unique of a prospect I can remember signing with Louisville under Rick Pitino.
I don’t remember Pitino ever bringing in a 7-footer with this type of shooting range.<
