After the first big recruiting weekend of the year Rick Pitino and his staff have decided to extend a scholarship offer to a local prospect from the 2019 class.

Johnson averaged 14 points for the Shamrocks during his sophomore season and is currently playing for the Louisville Magic AAU team. He’s coached by former Louisville big man Ellis Myles.
Louisville isn’t the only program to offer after Johnson put together a few solid performances at the Dallas adidas Gauntlet AAU Tournament over the weekend. Xavier and and Cincinnati have also offered Johnson a scholarship.
Scout.com ranks Johnson as the 49th best overall player in the 2019 class and rate him as a four star prospect. Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia Tech have all expressed interest in Johnson, but have yet to offer a scholarship.
