The Knightdale, North Carolina, native ranked as the 19th best running back in the 2021 class.
As a junior, Cooley rushed for nearly 2,000 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Cooley chose Louisville over offers from Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia Tech and West Virginia, among others.
“I really loved the coaches there and I loved that they’re committed to the run,” Cooley said in an interview with 247Sports. “That’s a positive for me. I felt comfortable with the coaches. I felt comfortable talking to the commits there, building relationships with them and I felt comfortable with the offense, it’s similar to the one I run in high school.”
Louisville’s 12-man 2021 recruiting class now ranks 27th nationally.<
