Eric Van Der Heijden, a 6-foot-9, swing-man from Raleigh, North Carolina, announced his commitment to Louisville via social media.

The 6-foot-9, sharpshooter chose Louisville over Iowa, Maryland, Wake Forest, Marquette, Texas, Providence, Clemson, Ole Miss and Cincinnati.
247Sports rates Van Der Heijden as a four-star prospect and he’s ranked as the 72nd best overall prospect in the 2021 class.
Van Der Heijden has solid basketball genes. Both his parents played the sport professionally and his older brother, Jake, currently plays at Bucknell.
Louisville’s 2021 class now ranks fifth nationally.<
