Louisville Hoops Pauses Workouts Following Positive Covid-19 Tests

Chris Humphrey

Roughly a month after phasing players back on campus the University of Louisville has announced that they’ll pause basketball activities.

Official Statement

“The University of Louisville has temporarily suspended all men’s basketball voluntary activities for two weeks after two members of the program tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, All proper procedures and protocols are being followed, including the quarantining of those impacted. We look forward to a resumption of men’s basketball activities in the near future.”

Given where we are with the pandemic, this news isn’t surprising. Schools across the country are starting to see positive test results with their student athletes and it seems the standard protocol is to hit the pause button.

It’s worth mentioning that this is the first time the school has revealed results from Covid-19 testing. Maybe we’ll soon learn results from the student athletes that were tested in other sports, including over 100 football players.
