The Cardinal coaching staff has recently started to get involved with 6’7 200 lb. small forward T.J. Warren of Raleigh, North Carolina. ESPN ranks Warren as the 39th best player in the 2012 class. He currently holds offers from Arizona State, Florida, Georgetown, Indiana, Kansas, Miami, N.C. State, Wake Forest, Xavier, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech. Warren doesn’t have any favorites at this time, but I am hearing that N.C. State may be an early leader. His father played for the Wolf Pack in the mid 70’s.
Louisville has not offered, but is starting to show some serious interest. According to Alex Kline of the TheRecruitScoup.com, Rick Pitino spoke to Warren’s father earlier this afternoon.
Warren is a very versatile player that uses his size well. He is a great perimeter shooter and causes match-up problems for smaller defenders. His game reminds me of a poor man’s Paul Pierce. Warren plays AAU for the Garner Roads program. He attends Word Of God Academy in Raleigh, which is the same school that produced John Wall.<
