Scott Satterfield and his staff have added two players to the 2021 roster via the transfer market.
Safety Kenderick Duncan Jr. and athlete Shai Werts, both of Georgia Southern, have been announced that they’ll transfer to Louisville.
Duncan Jr. missed four games for Georgia State as a redshirt junior in 2020 due to injury, but managed to make quite an impact when healthy. He finished with 28 tackles (16 solo), five pass breakups and two interceptions in six games. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound defensive back has two years of eligibility left.
Werts will join the Louisville program as an athlete and is expected to be utilized in a variety of ways in the Cardinal offense. The 5-foot-11, 205-pound, speedster will have one year of eligibility after a great four year career at Georgia Southern.
The South Carolina native finished with 3,083 rushing yards with 34 touchdowns in an option heavy offense. Werts also threw for 3,777 yards and another 34 touchdowns with his arm. He leaves as the Sun Belt Conference’s career leader in quarterback rushing yards.<
