Louisville Football Lands A Pair Of Defensive Commitments

July 4th was a big day for the Louisville Cardinal football program in more ways than one. Bobby Petrino and his staff landed their eleventh and twelfth commitments from the 2018 class.

Robert Hicks, a 6-foot-1, 230-pound, linebacker from Miami, Florida, was the first commitment of the day. He announced his commitment from his Twitter account.

Hicks is a composite three-star prospect, however ESPN tabs him as a four star. The Miami native has an impressive offer list, which includes Auburn, Miami, Mississippi State, and Oregon.

The second commitment of the day came from Georgia native Thurman Gathers. He announced his commitment in a video that was shared by

Gathers is a 6-foot-3, 218-pound, linebacker/defensive end. The Georgia native is a composite three-star prospect and chose Louisville over Arkansas, Maryland, North Carolina State and TCU.
