Bobby Petrino and his staff kept a couple of scholarships available after signing 22 players for the 2017 recruiting class. On Tuesday afternoon we learned who will take one of the available scholarships for the upcoming season.
Rivals.com was the first to report that outside linebacker Nick Okeke will sign with Louisville and join their 2017 recruiting class.
The Murfeesboro, Tennessee, native was originally a member of the 2017 class, but had planned on spending a year at Milford Prep Academy in New York for the upcoming season and reclassify to 2018. When Okeke received an offer from Louisville he assumed it was for 2018, but later learned he was being asked to join the program right away. He is expected to arrive in Louisville in July.
Okeke is rated as a two-star prospect by most recruiting outlets. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound, linebacker had offers from Memphis, UT-Martin and Austin Peay.
