Chris Mack and the Louisville Cardinals are the betting favorites in one of the college basketball’s top early season match-ups.
According to Vegas Insider Louisville is currently favored by 6.5 over No. 4 ranked Michigan.
Despite being unbeaten, Louisville is just 3-4 against the spread this season. In their defense, some of the biggest spreads in program history have come in the last two weeks.
FWIW, Louisville has comfortably covered against their two notable opponents this season (Miami & WKU). Beating the Hurricanes and the Hilltoppers doesn’t exactly give you resume wins, but they’re clearly the best two teams the Cards have played thus far.
The Cards will have a different type of test than they’ve had all year on Tuesday night. Michigan is one of the hottest teams in the country. The Wolverines are unbeaten overall and 5-2 against the spread.
Michigan tied the biggest jump in AP Poll history going from unranked to No. 4 after winning last week’s Battle 4 Atlantis.
Louisville is currently 1-1 all time in regular season games as the No. 1 ranked team. The Cards played two games during the 2012-13 season as the top ranked team, winning at UConn and then losing at home to Syracuse before dropping to No. 5.
A win would improve Louisville’s record to 4-2 all time in ACC – Big Ten Challenge games.
