Chris Mack and the Louisville Cardinals will be double digit favorites for the fifth straight game on Sunday afternoon when they host Akron.
According to VegasInsider.com, the Cards are 18 point favorites over the Zips.
Despite being undefeated and no team coming within 13 points, Louisville is just 2-3 against the spread this season.
As you can see, they’ve had some insanely large spreads to cover. That’s how bad the non-conference schedule has been up to this point.
When it comes to the Zips, don’t let the 18 point spread fool you.I’m not sure just how good Akron is, but they’re much better than Louisville’s previous two opponents.
They’re 3-1 against the spread, but the most impressive thing on their resume might be the lone loss they have. Akron covered 12 points on the road at West Virginia and the game was very close until the very end.
Chris Mack talks Akron match-up
The Zips are fairly balanced with four players average double figures. Forward Xeyrius Williams looks like their best player, averaging 16.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. Williams shoots 95% from the free throw line.
Guards Loren Cristian Jackson and Tyler Cheese are averaging 15 points per game and both shoot up 30% from three-point range.
I expect Akron to be a significant step up in competition for Louisville compared to their preview four games. The Zips may even be better than Miami.<
