Louisville defeated the Wright State Raiders 3-1 yesterday in the friendly confines of Jim Patterson Stadium, securing a spot in the super-regional round (sweet 16).
Once again, the Cards got a stellar pitching performance, this time from ACC Pitcher of the Year, Drew Harrington, who pitched 7 1/3 scoreless innings, giving up only 5 hits. Zack Burdi picked up the save, making his first appearance of the weekend.
Nick Solak led the way offensively, going 3 for 4, including a 2 run home run and all 3 runs batted in.
The Cards, who ran their record at Jim Patterson Stadium to an amazing 35-1, will host the super-regional (best 2 out of 3) next week-end. They will face the winner of the UC Santa Barbara –vs- Xavier match-up in the Nashville Regional.
