Louisville’s win over North Carolina did wonders for the Cards resume. Despite having five losses, only one is somewhat questionable and they now have two signature wins.
ESPN’s Joey Brackets bumped Louisville up from a nine seed to a seven seed. They’re slotted in the East Region taking on Richard Pitino and the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Jerry Palm of CBS Sports has Louisville as the No. 4 seed in the West Region.
One thing to keep in mind when trying to predict the bracket is that there are a few leagues that aren’t expected to get nearly as many teams in the tournament as they normally do.
Conferences like the PAC 12, AAC and the Atlantic 10 are way down this year. That will definitely factor in for teams on the bubble.
At this point, Louisville is far from a bubble team, but as you know, the schedule in February is absolutely brutal. I still maintain that Louisville could go 9-9 and still earn an at large bid. 10-8 gets you in safely.<
