Fans that attended the first two games of the 2017-18 season likely left the KFC Yum! Center slightly underwhelmed. Despite getting wins over George Mason and Omaha, the Cards weren’t able to put together a complete game.
What the fans received on Tuesday night at the KFC Yum! Center was worth more than the price of admission as the Cards clobbered Southern Illinois 84-42.
“We got a full 40 minutes from everybody,” David Padgett said following the win. “I told them if we get that, good things will happen.”
The Saluki’s hung around early, but the Cards held a 29-18 lead at half-time after putting together an 18-2 run. Louisville dominated the second half, outscoring Southern Illinois 55-24.
The Cards were led by Jordan Nwora who came off the bench to score a career-high 18 points. Deng Adel chipped in with 16-points and grabbed seven rebounds while Darius Perry added ten points and seven assists.
