Losing The 2013 Banner Doesn’t Mean It Didn’t Happen, But It Certainly Changes Things

Chris Humphrey

Losing the 2013 NCAA Championship banner seemed like the worst possible outcome for UofL fans as they waited for the NCAA to hand down their ruling. Unfortunately, we learned on Thursday morning that vacation of wins was just one of many penalties the NCAA gave the UofL basketball program.

As expected, UofL will appeal and they have 45 days to provide information to the NCAA regarding which players would’ve been ruled ineligible and what type of impact they had in each game. Very confusing, I know.

If in fact, the 2013 banner is taken down at the Yum! Center, we all know that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. With that said, it would still be extremely painful for the fan base.
