With all of the various recruiting services putting together their final rankings for the 2020 class, let’s take a look at where Louisville’s two-man class finished.
J.J. Traynor and D’Andre Davis are both rated as far as four star prospects by 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals.
Traynor finished 93rd overall in the final 247Sports rankings and is 117th in the composite rankings.
Davis finished 102nd overall in the final 247Sports rankings and is 137th in the composite rankings.
Composite Rankings Explained
The 247Sports Composite Rating is a proprietary algorithm that compiles prospect “rankings” and “ratings” listed in the public domain by the major media recruiting services. It converts average industry ranks and ratings into a linear composite index capping at 1.0000, which indicates a consensus No. 1 prospect across all services.
With Jay Scrubb entering the NBA Draft, Louisville’s two-man 2020 recruiting class ranks 33rd nationally.
Davis finished 96th overall in ESPN’s final “ESPN-100.”
ESPN only ranks 100 players and Traynor didn’t crack the top 100, but given that his Scout grade was 80 it looks like he just missed it.
Louisville’s 2020 class didn’t end up in the top 25 of ESPN’s rankings.
Traynor finished 91st while Davis finished 118th in the Rivals final player rankings for the 2020 class. Louisville finished 58th in the final 2020 class rankings.
