With Zach Price, Wayne Blackshear, and Chane Behanan having great senior seasons thus far, lets not forget about the fourth member of the 2011 recruiting class. Angel Nunez is the only one of the four that is not ranked in the top 150 nationaly, but don’t let that fool you. In my opinion, Nunez will be a top 100 player when it’s all said and done. Lets not forget, Gorgui Dieng went from being unranked to #44 nationally in just a matter of three months. Nunez was always considered a high major prospect, but fell out of the rankings because he didn’t play on the AAU circuit this past spring.
Scout and Rivals may not think of him to be a top 150 player, but a lot of big time schools were heavily recruiting Angel before he committed to Louisville in September. Arizona, Arkansas, Cincinnati, UConn, Indiana, Providence, Rutgers, St. Johns, Virginia Tech, & West Virgina all offered Nunez a scholarship. He may be the player you hear the least about in this 2011 class, but in my opinion he is just as good of a fit for this program as any of the four. Many have compared him to Francisco Garcia, but he is actually a little taller and more athletic than Cisco. After watching him play a few times, he reminds me of a better shooting Rudy Gay.
Check Him Out.
