Former Louisville Cardinal and current Baltimore Raven Lamar Jackson would easily be your NFL MVP if the season ended today.
Even though there are still two more games on Monday night, Jackson is almost certain to be the leagues top week one performer as he broke multiple records in his sophomore debut.
Jackson threw for 324 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions in Baltimore’s 59-10 dismantling of the Miami Dolphins. He set a Ravens single-game record (85%) for completion percentage and became the youngest player with a perfect passer rating (22 years, 244 days old) in NFL history.
Maybe the most surprising stat for Lamar was just three rushing attempts after average 9.2 carries per game in 2018. Jackson’s ability to stand in the pocket and accurately hit his receivers has been doubted by many since he entered the league. Those folks have likely been silent for the past 24 hours.
