Former Louisville Cardinal sharp shooter Kyle Kuric’s successful stint in Spain has come to an end. After spending the last three seasons with the Gran Canaria club in Spain’s top professional league, Kuric has decided to take his talents elsewhere in Europe.
In his sixth season as a professional, Kuric will play for Zenit St. Petersburg in Russia. Kuric and the club agreed to terms on a two year deal a few days ago after weeks of negotiation.
It didn’t take Kuric long to get back to his normal self after recovering from two brain surgeries in 2015 and 2016. This past season the Evansville native averaged 12 points in 35 games for Gran Canaria.
I’m sure the decision to leave Gran Canaria was a difficult one. The club was very supportive of Kuric throughout his medical issues and he became a fan favorite in Las Palmas, Spain.’
