Cardinal Basketball

KOB Recap: Day 1 & 2

Over the weekend Louisville fans got a chance to check out two future Cardinals at the King Of The Bluegrass at Fairdale High School.

On Saturday evening Zach Price and his J-Town Chargers were too much for Pearl High School of Mississippi. The Chargers won this one 95-49. Price, looked very solid, but his team is so good he didn’t stand out like you would have expected. J-Town is the best high school team in the Louisville area that I have seen in a very long time. The Chargers had 4 or 5 guys that will play Division 1 basketball. Price finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds. His footwork and post moves are already a step ahead of both current Louisville centers, in my opinion. He was named Co-MVP of the game along with teammate Tony Kimbro Jr.  At one point Louisville was pursuing Kimbro Jr, but have backed off as of late. He currently holds offers from Oklahoma State and Virginia Tech.

Despite having the flu, Chane Behanan had a monster game with 40 points and 16 rebounds as the Bowling Green Purples knocked off Iroquois 82-70. Behanan is far and away the best player in this tournament. He made 40 and 16 look easy against a solid Raider team. I’m very anxious to see him play against better teams throughout this tournament.

Both Behanan and Price will play again this evening. Price and J-Town play at 6 p.m. and Behanan and the Purples play at 9 p.m.
