Bellamy left the game in the first quarter and did not return after colliding with UK’s Matt Roark while blocking on a kickoff return.
“Bellamy is still getting checked, I don’t really have an update on him right now,” said Coach Strong at the Big East Coaches Teleconference on Monday. “We missed him (against Kentucky) because he’s a guy who can make plays for us.”
Strong said he also wasn’t sure if U of L senior receiver Troy Pascley would be available for EKU. Pascley limped off the field with his lower left leg wrapped up after a rough outing. He caught one pass for 10 yards, but had several dropped passes.
If Bellamy and Pascley can’t go, Strong said the Cards would “go with the guys who finished the game.”
“We have to make more plays at that position and get the ball in the right guys hands,” Strong said. “We still have Andrell Smith, we still have (Doug) Beaumont, (Scott) Radcliff, Jarrett Davis — we have some guys we can line up at that position we just need playmakers.”<
