Louisville swing-man Jordan Nwora is set to get international experience this summer.

The sophomore to be has been named to the 17-man preliminary squad for Nigeria’s upcoming trio of FIBA World Cup qualifiers from June 29-July 1.

Nwora’s father Alex is the head coach of the Nigerian team as well as the head coach at Erie Community College in New York.

Nigeria’s first game will be on June 29 at 3:30 EST against Uganda. They’ll play at the same time on June 30 & July 1 against Rwanda and Mali. The games can be streamed at LiveBasketball.tv.

Nwora was the first freshman to make his debut this past season, but his playing time for the majority of the season was hardly consistent. If there was one player who seemed deserving of more minutes, it was Nwora.

In the games he played in, Nwora averaged 5.7 points per game and shot 43.9 percent from 3-PT range in 12 minutes.
